It has been my privilege and my absolute honour to serve the city that I have called home for over 50 years.
I arrived in Saskatoon in the 1960’s and I have witnessed this wonderful place blossom into the prairie jewel that we are all so very proud of.
No words can describe the pride I feel to know that, as a city councillor and as a member of the legislative assembly, I have been part of building the very best city in Canada.
To the wonderful people of Ward 2, it has been a tremendous privilege to work with you and to work for you. Watching the diverse neighbourhoods of the Ward grow through so many struggles, and with such a determination to prosper, has been extremely rewarding to me. Together, we have learned that we can, indeed, take pride in the West side.
I wish to congratulate Hilary Gough on her victory in the recent election. You have my strong encouragement to continue what we have started here. I also want to thank all the other candidates who stepped forward. I encourage you to remain involved in civic affairs, building a strong and dynamic Ward 2.
The people of this Ward are a determined bunch. They have vision, they have determination, and yes, they have issues. They demand much of their elected officials and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
To the people of Ward 2 and to everyone in Saskatoon, I feel very honoured to have served you. Thank you.
Over the past ten years, we’ve worked together to make Ward 2 stronger.
